@fuse I have a pretty solid collection going and try to pick up a bottle whenever I'm traveling. I live in eastern Canada and a lot of bourbons are hard to get up here. Big fan of the ER, KC, and that Russell 10 is fantastic.

@brucefraser more of a bourbon than a scotch person. Can’t say I am familiar. A few folks use the hashtag when talking about what liquor they enjoy.

@fuse good to know - thanks! I am also a big big fan of bourbon. Most whiskies to be honest haha. What is your regular go-to?

Any whisky folks on this here site? Arran is always a fave distillery of mine. This one is nicknamed the Bodega and is a delicious sherry cask offering bottled at cask strength. Punchy and fruity. Also quite well priced.

I've neglected every chore, task, and responsibility I had this weekend and I don't feel the slightest regret.

@codeWhisperer Thank you! This new album - Tundra Rock by Slomosa, has been on constant rotation for me lately. Wall to wall riffs. The track Rice is incredible. If you like hard driving stoner rock, you'll enjoy this.

Dozer's return to the scene after 10 years was one of my faves in metal for 2023. This release came out 18 months ago now - you sleep on it? If so, check it out.

'Drifting in The Endless Void' has a matured sound that expands beyond traditional stoner rock, but still with loads of fuzzed-up heaviness. A remarkable return for Dozer.

Emma Ruth Rundle is an absolute force of nature. I just love this Audiotree/Far Out live production for Heaven. The sound is incredible and the venue perfectly suits the tone of the song.

"The only church I’ll ever know
Is in the Earth, the ground below me says
Come home now, you’re done"

I've posted before about her collab with Thou, which is also incredible. She's such a versatile artist.

@MidnightRider nice! lots of great breweries here now, the market has really grown over the past 10 years or so.

Had a great time at the Magic Club Showcase last night in the Bus Stop Theatre. Lots of great talent! Also stopping at Tusket Falls Brewing for food and beers beforehand was fantastic. Fun night out in the north end.

@Valkyrie_D thank you! still figuring things out and glad to be here

I just love this track by The Veils. Finn grapples with inner demons and confronts the darker aspects of human nature. There's an intensity & urgency in the music & vocals, adding to the dramatic, haunting atmosphere of the song.

@MPCavalier The Coast magazine is a pretty good place to start for info on the local Halifax music scene thecoast.ca/category/music-319

Also Music Nova Scotia musicnovascotia.ca/

@MPCavalier Bands like SigSour are really driving an underground punk/hardcore revival here. They're really bringing an incredible infusion of new talent and a fresh aggressive sound. Others to watch are Pinot Gringo and The Orchids.

Few collaborations have the gravity that Emma Ruth Rundle and Thou have.

"I want to step into the armor of another, stronger
I want to look once through the eyes of someone good"

Bloody massive.
