If it was a staffer, that power imbalance is inappropriate. However, I don't think most care about an affair; it's between him and his wife. I suspect there's more to it for him to resign immediately. Seems fishy.
Agreed but she was 31; it ended some time ago, and it ended amicably, or so it has been reported.
