That's the third time my new (full) #RapidXChange #propane grill tank is only about 80% full when I get home and connect it. Once is a mistake, but three times feels like deliberate short-changing. Will switch to a different vendor. #newnormal
@LnzyHou yup, 100% not me. Connected it to two diff grills and shows about 80% full. Compared to my neighbors new refilled tank (diff vendor) it clocks of the scale as full almost to the point of bending the gauge needle. This is just plain not fully filled.
Then you’ve got proof to take to vendor!
@bfgreen
How are you determining the 80% full state? Weight or Gauge
@pendrag two different gauges. But now you make me want to weigh and compare.
@bfgreen
Tanks are normally filled by weight; so depending on the state of the scale used during the fill process. The local mom/pop hardware store does LP filling and they explained the process to me one day.
pct might be by design
propane tanks
should never be filled to 100 pct
if tank gets hotter after filling
the contents
will attemt to expand
possibly rupturing
the tank or fillings
research might reveal
a good fill pct
@millard_jmm it is also very cold right now, so it may allow for expansion when the weather warms up (and be closer to 100%) - good point!
@bfgreen
Are you sure the issue isn’t on your end?
