You can keep a keen edge on a small knife or pocketknife by drawing it toward you on the unglazed edge of an upside down or tea cup. Acts like an improvised whetstone!

@princesscarolyn I hear you! I used to make my own pottery for use around our home. But I'm talking about glazed pottery (fully fired, not bisque or terracotta) that has the small unglazed piece (so it doesn't stick to the bottom of the kiln).
