It’s been 6 months with the prosthetic and I still can’t walk on it save for very short distances. Like a lap around the living area. Idk why mine gives me such pain but they’ve agreed to recast a socket in hopes of a better, tighter fit which is supposed to make it all better.
It’s been almost 7 years since my leg was destroyed. Patience is what I keep telling myself, but being stuck in a body that can’t move on its own is torturous for me.
I hope it’s able to be fixed. Soon.
@AnnetteTRemain thanks for thr support. The appointment to recast is next week. Then it takes a couple of weeks for the plastic test socket made from the mold to be ready, then if it’s right - another couple weeks to get the carbon fiber one back. So it’s a pretty drawn out process when you’re immobile.
@bettertobend that probably feels like forever.
@AnnetteTRemain it really does. It’s hard not to spend all that time online. 😑
@bettertobend I'm guilty of that too. What do you want to do if they can provide a better fit?
@AnnetteTRemain my goal is to eventually finish a 5k. But short term I only want to be able to garden, practice sports with the kids, do the grocery shopping. All the things I took for granted for most of my life.
@bettertobend I'm sorry you are going through this. Did they give idea on how long it would take to recast?
