question of the day - pickle beer.
If someone offered you a beer made with pickle brine in it, would you try it? If yes, would you finish it?

@beer probably not. I feel like, perhaps, we’ve been a tad too accepting and the craft is sort of losing its way. Point: I had a lager or something and their selling point was celery seeds, and it tasted like hotdog water because obviously. Counterpoint: I had a dipa with guava and mandarin that my friend said was the worst shit he ever tasted and I loved it. Point though: that beer is not available any longer.

@Chriskorvela Both solid points.
For us, we like to give fair attention to any brewery's attempt at being creative. However, even we have our limits.
This Pickle Ale from wasn't that bad. But, we'd not venture two of them for sure!

@beer there is a bar in Toronto which I’m not going to name, but their beer list is absolutely impenetrable most of the time. It’s 18 taps of stuff that seem like production mistakes. Now I’m also going to tell you this: I don’t do little tasters of beer, I just order a full glass. One of my greatest joys going out is having that 1st sip, saying “this sucks”, drinking it all, and trying something else. But I find a helluva a lot more red flags not worth trying since 2020 it seems.

@Chriskorvela Responding to defects, this is a side-effect of growth.
Many startups come from different backgrounds, leading to varying degrees of quality.
If the bar, in question, is near the financial district, then I have a pretty good guess. :)
