@mcfate This again. Do they not understand or not care that active-duty military and eligible dependents can and often do vote absentee. Please continue poking the bear.

@AskTheDevil TIL. I have not often messed with live ISOs, either install to metal or aVM.
Intel is in some kind of way. Brain drain and now spinning off manufacturing? What's left?

Oh wow. Website and forums will remain but: "After over 27 years of covering the wide – and wild – word of computing hardware, today is AnandTech’s final day of publication."

Can someone help me here? I've got a copy of Ubuntu Unity for ARM procesors I am trying to install. Boots fine on the machine, but when I get to the user login, it will not recognize any of the common ubuntu or linux default username/passwords.
I've tried various combinations of ubuntu:ubuntu, ubuntu:<nopassword>, linux, root, etc.
And of course the documentation indicates nothing special, and the "help" forums are all full of people saying "use ubuntu:ubuntu, duh, stupid!"
@AskTheDevil default username/passwords? Is that a thing? It didn't prompt you to make a username and password for the local admin? I'm not at all familiar with ARM installs
@IslandNewsService that's better, totally normal
@IslandNewsService weird news tonight. Something in the water?
@evistre @LowEndMuse "Agrivoltaics" have been deployed at scale in Germany, and in many pilots in the US. Lot of fringe benefits like, tends to cool the panels which increases electrical generation. Win-win

@LowEndMuse Plastering them on farmland 12-20 feet up has been shown to increase yields and create better outcomes for livestock

@nl37tgt @th3j35t3r And there's emperical data thanks to Prof Squire*: https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/7070451 (I think she's partially responsible for Torvalds self-reform)

@Coctaanatis IMO he wants a crisis to distract the oligarchs and what's left of military brass, before they eject him.
@LowEndMuse mmmm I'm just dumb. It was pure stupidity.
@peeppeepcircus Maybe later we'll both laugh about it. Which'll be fun because he's a dog.
