I hate to even have to say this, and I will give you the benefit of the doubt that it doesn't apply to you, but do wear headphones. I don't know when people watching media on their device speakers audible to everyone on mass transit became socially acceptable, but it makes me want to throw the offenders out of the back hatch of a plane.
@00pi I wear wired earbuds all the time as a social cue whether or not I'm listening to something -- usually am though. Not really into chit chat especially in confined spaces.
