Proton VPN's anti-censorship Stealth protocol finally works on Windows. Proton VPN is also expanding its free service to 12 more countries and introducing an icon-customization feature for Android.
Proton VPN's Stealth protocol is designed to protect users who face internet censorship. It disguises VPN traffic as "normal" internet traffic, thereby preventing governments from identifying citizens who bypass censorship
Interestingly, the Proton VPN Android app can now be disguised as a weather, notes, or calculator app. This may help users stay discreet while using Proton VPN in public.

Changing the icon might hide the app in app drawer but when you have a VPN on it clearly shows in the shade menus beside WiFi icon as a wee key icon
So, not really being discrete in the fact you are using a VPN is it 😆 personally i don't see the point in hiding the original app icon - if someone gets a hold of your device, gov official, and its unlocked they can go into settings and VPN and see you have been using a VPN anyway
@ecksmc Whew, the apk (github) wouldn't install either. Finally uninstalled and reinstalled and that worked.
It doesn't come up for me on FDroid because of anti-feature settings (tracking) I don't want to change.

Usually clearing play store app cache helps
VPNs offer a APK file download from their site I'd just download from there that'll update the app on play store also for future alerts
