I don't blame the contractors; they're just doing the work. I blame my landlord.
They've been doing work to fix some issues with the foundation/subfloor, which... is exactly as noisy and problematic as you'd expect it to be.
I'm ok, but my mellow is extremely harshed by my cats and boyo, all of whom are entirely tilted by the noise and vibration today.
