Lieutenant General Tsokov Oleg Yurievich, Deputy Commander of the Southern Military District, was killed by a Storm Shadow missile on July 11th at the Duna Hotel, Berdyansk, Ukraine.

I'm not sure, but I think he was also second in command of the entire Russian Southern front, or at least of the Russian South Group (35th, 36th, and 58th Armies).

late night update...

This story just got a whole lot weirder. Turns out that Yurievich was indeed the 2nd in command of 58th Army (Southern front).

It also turns out that the commander of 58th Army was fired by either Putin or Gerasimov (or both) about 24hrs before that strike. His HQ and living quarters were in the Duna hotel.

58th Army, along with elements of 35th and 36th Armies have been bearing the brunt of the Ukrainian counter attack.

...

The same Russian 58th Army began shuffling units horizontally along the front line about a week ago to reinforce places the Ukrainians are attacking.

This creates weak points in the parts of the line that those troops left.

It also reveals a lack of reserves, at least for that part of the Russian front.
