Okay, here's a strange one.

We have a Canon printer that's on the WiFi network. My Mac is multi-homed on Ethernet and WiFi, but I have Ethernet prioritized so I don't chew wireless bandwidth when I'm within cable distance of the router.

When I go to PRINT something, though, the Mac simply can't manage to communicate with the printer. If I prioritize WiFi over Ethernet, though, it works the way it should.

Any ideas?

1) it's a printer, so just shoot it
2) see 1
3) see if a firmware update is available

I have a Brother and this kind of thing started happening in Windows after years of normal operation. I can toggle the printer's power and it wirks for a while. All I got.

I'm kind of thinking my path of least resistance here may just be to buy a cheap second printer with an Ethernet port.
