This is China's 12-point "peace plan" for the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Shall we go through those point by point?

1: Will Russia be leaving *all* sovereign Ukrainian territory?

2: Putin/Russia are the only party still holding Cold War mentality.

3: See above.

4: Not while Russian troops are on Ukrainian land.

5: A complete Russian evacuation of Ukraine will solve that humanitarian crisis.

6: No Russian troops in Ukraine will make Ukrainian civilians safe.

7: See above.

8: Remove Putin from power and strategic risks drop.

9: Only Russia is blocking grain exports.

...

10: Remove all Russian troops from Ukraine and those sanctions no longer need to exist.

11: China really wants those Russian weapons, especially the ones that have western components.

12: With minimal investment Ukraine is quite capable of rebuilding itself.

...

13: China really wants to revisit the Peking Treaty of 1860 that ceded Vladivostok to Russia. It's one of several such treaties that China regards as "the Unequal Treaties".

@Render my nickel: China needs to secure the export of grain, particularly to the places where it has already invested a trillion dollars on the African continent. This isn't about human rights but how to sustain their colonization and imperialism 21st century style. Russia showed its limited usefulness and China plays a long game.

Very much this. Challenge for the world, given how much food they grew.

@b4cks4w It will put pressure on on Canadian and US producers and the cost of wheat will increase again once it is clear that the Ukraine enters another season of lowered production.

@b4cks4w The price of war is so very steep for so many
