Meanwhile over at the _other_ company, Tesla cuts Models S and X prices for the second time in two months. Not up to par anymore with competition.
@TheRuralProgressive
Yep. GM alone has a dozen new EV models coming out, and the ability to mass produce.
Ford says they'll triple Lightning production this year -- not a Tesla competitor but demonstrates industrial capacity
@b4cks4w The difference between a lifted pickup owner and Tesla owner grows smaller with each passing day. And given that Tesla is very much a status symbol, as is the early adoption of the Lightning, it could impact those who might have gone for a cybertruck (if it ever gets released).
It all boils down to Tesla being hit from all sides. It’s just a question of how loyal their following is and whether that will give them enough time to improve quality and compete with giants
@b4cks4w I know it’s anecdotal but over the past 6 months the number of Teslas I see is holding steady while EVs by VW, Kia, even the Ford Lightning are starting to become more and more common.
Now that companies who sometimes have more than a century of experience building cars are entering the market in a serious way, Tesla is being hit with a big dose of reality.
