Story time: During the early 1980s— before VHS— I used this tape recorder to record Flash Gordon (the movie) from HBO. I placed the recorder next to the TV, then had to stop it and flip the tape in the middle of the movie.
When I couldn’t sleep at night, I would pop the tape in and fall asleep to the movie. Kinda.
The only real drawback? When the batteries died, I had to save allowance to buy new ones.
