Good news: Located the @$!&*# scrabbling noises kept me awake
Bad News: Squirrel. Trapped itself in a pipe.
Worse News: Squirrels plural
Good News: Rescued and released said squirrels.
More Good News: Ingrates fled at high velocity
@ceb All good. They were relatively calm and seemed to understand I wasn't out to eat them. Two hung around until the last one was free and then there was a small squirrel-splosion

I envision a little rescue basket with nuts lowered into the pipe.
