@IanG_Richardson I always had a bucket of water by the grill, in case of any burns (paramedic brother, I listened to his tapes of lectures and thought it a great tip). When food nearly cooked, I added a couple sections of the newspaper to bucket. When done cooking, spread the papers out on ground, lifted & placed grill (using tongs) on the damp paper & wrapping paper around grill for a steam cleaning. Grill lasted well and ended going to a friend when I moved out of state.
I miss newspapers.

@brainwise Handsome kitteh boy! Thanks for sharing this with us.
@hermitary If you have cabinets along wall with kitchen sink, open the doors to allow warmer room air to reach the wall where pipes are. It helps. As does letting faucets drip or run VERY SLOWLY during the coldest hours. If you can bring outside critters into a garage or shed, that helps. Otherwise, blankets or furniture pads (available from places like U-Haul, not too expensive) over shelters or boxes for little critters.
Lived in Montana for years. Have a few tricks up my sleeve.
@Pepstar Very lovely tribute and resting place.
@LnzyHou How about a Santa's cat helper on a barstool? No boats or canals near me here in the southwest borderlands.
@Sassypants0210 Oh, girl, I LIKE your style!

@MindfulWilliam Fully understand.
@Juhstin Guessing Fentanyl. Personally knew a nursing home nurse, on graveyard shift, who would take fentanyl patches off sleeping residents and put them on herself. She was found, unconscious one night, almost covered in the partially used patches. Coma for a while, due to stroke from the overdose. She recovered, and even eventually was giving her license back by the state.
Easy to target resident care facilities, I reckon. Fewer employees to observe thefts.
