I am really dreading this arctic air mass coming later in the week. Here where I am, we don’t get weather like this, so I am worried for the outside animals we have, as well as our pipes.

@hermitary If you have cabinets along wall with kitchen sink, open the doors to allow warmer room air to reach the wall where pipes are. It helps. As does letting faucets drip or run VERY SLOWLY during the coldest hours. If you can bring outside critters into a garage or shed, that helps. Otherwise, blankets or furniture pads (available from places like U-Haul, not too expensive) over shelters or boxes for little critters.

Lived in Montana for years. Have a few tricks up my sleeve.
