It irritates me SO MUCH when I see people theorizing that the reason Elno's eliminating so much staff is because of "dead weight".

This is painting the majority of all workers as lazy fffks while trying to perpetuate the myth that billionaires work alongside us in employment trenches.

The people that COULD quit, did.

If a company has "dead weight", that's a management problem, an HR problem. Not a worker problem.

Until there is some way to cross-check between ALL instances/universes for users on 🐘 it'll probably stay a clunky extremely non-intuitive mess.

You have to know who exactly has the info you want, and you have to know their exact addy, AND you have to actually visit their individual pages to find it until lists start to gain more functionality.

OK, rant over. Back to trying to find stuff I need.

This is the result of kinda getting spoiled from the bird app where the profile would fly out just on mouseover AND you could also instantly follow based on that small flyout.

Also it's the result of simply and easily finding hashtag posts that you literally don't have to FIND the people using the hashtags BEFORE you search for the hashtag (🤦 omg srsly).

That's made possible by ONE owner/CEO/chief dude with multiple machines on the same universe rather than smaller independent universes.

I'm not a tech engineer, but I "get" tech easily and usually don't have a problem learning new platforms.

The more I'm on Mastodon 🐘 the more I honestly think the structure for CoSo is the objectively better way to do social media.

Everything about about 🐘, from searching hashtags to creating lists to finding data-driven people, is horrifically clunky and unintuitive. 1/whatever
