Decided to put some color on this Wiccan sketch done on Halloween while passing out candy and coloring sheets at the Pearlridge Center Candy Crawl.

Amazing Comic Con Aloha is just around the corner, so here's my obligatory promo. I'll be next to my missus, HasMade HI and Jon J. Murakami, at tables A7/A8. As usual I'll be bringing a wide assortment of hand drawn/painted original artwork and taking commissions.

I can take commissions early but no one ever seems to take me up on that. :D

I hope to have a map of the layout before the convention opens.

Sketched this out between passing out candy and coloring sheets at the Pearlridge Center Candy Craw.

New year, new zombie photo board. The board is 2' x 3' and has handles on the back that can held while by the person sticking their head in whole. I'll have at the Pearlridge Candy Crawl tonight.

The skull is a latex mask.

From a Muppets Halloween themed drink & draw; here's a sketch of Hulk dressed as Kermit playing his version of "Rainbow Connection"

A belated mail call. Original art of Tendi from and Rat Queens vol 3 both by Tess Fowler Gutierrez

She has been cranking out original art 4x4s. Check out her storenvy for what's currently available. As they're originals, what's available changes nearly daily

I don't get the comic shop as much as I'd like to, but when I go I often do a sketch for them while I'm there. Today's comic shop sketch is Frankenstein's monster.

This year is the 40th anniversary of Stan Sakai's Usagi Yojimbo. There is a fan driven tribute book in the works. They're very close to hitting the goal to take care of the printing. If you can help, it would be appreciated.

p.s. I submitted a 2 page story so yes, I have an interest in seeing this succeed.

Here's a throwback to a commission from 2020. I was asked to "recreate" the original Stars Wars EP IV poster done by Gregg HJildbrandt.

I used to do longer form, annotated art replays but the amount work was hard to justify for the little traction they got, but this was one that has an annotated replay, it's about 12 minutes long. Check it out if you've got the time.

I actually tried to watch Trumps MSG speech... I lasted about 20 minutes. He talks and talks and talks and barely says anything. There are a couple times that where he talks about a "little secret" he has with Speaker Johnson. Are we taking odds that it involves something unconstitutional and/or illegal?

Michonne from Walking Dead themed drink & draw.

The paper on this cover was hard to work with.

Jumping in the way back machine for this. This is from the first video I ever posted to Youtube; back before Shorts existed. :).

It was done in a now defunct Facebook app called Graffiti. You could only adjust the brush size, hue, and opacity. No undos, no layers. The process was recorded as an SWF file, and it was free.

It was a painful but effective way to learn the basics of digital painting.

Sketching Mouths...
Just getting in a skill building exercise. I learn a lot doing these and they help build the mental library. One thing I picked up on this round was the need to include the inside of the lip at certain angle angles and lip curls.

The references are random results from goggle image search.
