@apetrusk I wasn't even aware, until recently, that Tarantula hawks have a painful sting. I thought they really just didn't sting defensively at all, because I've never been stung by one even when I richly deserved to be.
I mean, of course I know they sting their prey, I just hadn't heard of anyone being stung.
