#PierrePoilievre is against the CPP. What better way to dismantle it than by giving half of it to #Alberta to squander on O&G giveaways.
Next federal election —> your #CPP is on the table. Choose wisely. #cdnpoli #PeePee #PierrePoilinever

@anita_rotheram In this photo from Sept 20, 2023, there are brown, white, Canadians, immigrant Canadians, gay Canadians.
He may not be the boogey man you want him to be.
Are there some nutjubs in the PC Party? Yes
Are there some nutjobs in ALL the political parties? You betcha!
@anita_rotheram Seems the goal of the "left" is to equate Pierre Poilievre to the US right.
Not sure that's a fair comparison, although it does make for great headlines.
Have a look at the makeup of the Conservative Party today. It is a healthy mix of Canadians from all walks, races, genders, and sexual orientations.
It's not the Conservative Party of Preston Manning or Stephen Harper.
They have evolved.
The left should too.
@Chuckles And here you are labelling me as “left” when I quoted a Globe&Mail article. My point is quite specifically about the Canada Pension Plan, not about the makeup of the CPC.
While I’m no “leftist”, I do favour evidence based policy over ideology. You seem to want to box anyone who disagrees with right wing ideology as “left”. That’s way too binary for me. And the “evolution” of the CPC towards ideology based policy is not progress.
You have a great day.
@anita_rotheram You may have self identified as "left" but I never made it about you.
My post was generic and pointed AT the left. Not at you. If you feel as such, that's on you.
In typically Canadian fashion, I will say "Sorry, as my intent was to inform, not disparage"
@anita_rotheram Agreed, Anita.
@anita_rotheram Unfortunately your link doesn't work. I think your facts are wrong too.
He never said he was against it. It was asked "open ended / retorically" by the Albertan NDP party.
Here is an ACTUAL quote from Pierre Poilievre
"We know many would like to defund our energy sector. We, on the Conservative side, will fight to keep the CPP depoliticized with the single purpose of giving an honest return to our hard-working Canadian employees and the retirees who depend on that fund."
