Exactly! Theyβre usually longer than 6β. Sometimes a little, sometimes a lot!
@amarand Only exception I'm aware of is an engineering metal rule. I've used *some* of those which were exactly 6", 12" or 30cm edge-to- edge, because of their specific use, but that's pretty specialist I suppose.

@sarcasmsign Also have to allow that *most* rulers have inches along one edge and centimetres on the other and they don't match perfectly. @amarand
