Can you imagine paying $100 to read his thoughts? Do people think he's JFK? Really?

The grifting continues (from my dwindling WaPo subscription)

"President-elect Donald Trump posted a message Monday on social media encouraging people to buy his latest book, “Save America.” The cover shows Trump’s bloody face, and his raised fist, after the July assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania.

The book is published by a company co-founded by his son, Donald Trump Jr., and sells for $99. Signed copies sell for $499."

This is my dad back in WW2 on Tarawa Island. When the war ended his platoon of Seabees were sent to Nagasaki and Hiroshima to clean up the mess. He saw horrible things he never spoke a word about. Many shots and beers later he died quietly. Happy Veterans Day to all who serve our nation. You are its honor.

Trump picks Rep. Elise Stefanik as ambassador to the United Nations.

In my continuing efforts to to help those who will be harmed by the incoming administration, I’ve started a monthly donation to the American Immigration Council. They’ve got a 97 rating on Charity Navigator and are doing important work to protect immigrants’ rights and educate the public about the importance of immigrants to our economy and our national identity. Last month, they issued this eye-opening report on the implications of mass deportation.

After 2.5 months it's finally raining in my town in the Philly suburbs. Let it Rain!

Objects in the mirror are closer than they appear. The more things change the more they stay the same.
This memory popped up this morning.

Attended a memorial tribute for my high school classmate, Mari Steed, yesterday. Mari's footprint on this planet was enormous. There are real heroes on this planet. Mari was one of them. She came to America in the early 60s carrying the doll in this picture. She went out wearing the hat with honor. Part of her story is linked.
Gártha my dear friend.

One rightfully angry hero. No one could feel his despair like he does.

This from the Guardian:
First laugh I’ve had since the election – Emmanuel Macron, to Trump: “Ready to work together as we have done for four years. With your convictions and with mine” (Orbán, Zelenskyy, Macron and European leaders respond to Trump’s win, 6 November).

Forty-five years later this man is still teaching me. It's a blessing.

An old teacher of mine from high school just shared this. Resonated with me.

In early October I was in Nashville to celebrate the life of John Prine. My wife and I went to the Johnny Cash museum and then had lunch in the bar connected to it. While watching some baseball at the bar an ad for Kamala Harris came on the TV. A white woman sitting next to us made a face of such utter distain at the mere look at VP Harris' face. That look scared me and it's one I'll never forget. That was my first doubt that women would coalesce for their daughters. It keeps playing in my mind.

@MLClark Please let them know it was white and it was women and may those women who voted for him continue to be ruled by their dumb ass white men. Tired of tiptoeing around difficult subjects, it is what it is.

Black men voted against black women.

Hispanics voted to deport other Hispanics.

White women voted against the rights of their daughters and granddaughters.

This is us. This is America.

Face it.

Don't ask what Democrats are doing wrong.

The answer is nothing.

What is wrong is an apparent appetite in this nation for incompetence, drama, perfidy, scandal, ouitright crime, hijinks, and general fuckery.

It's like a pantomime of stupidity.
