I consider December 14th, 2012 the single darkest day of my presidency. The news from Sandy Hook Elementary was devastating, a visceral blow, and like so many others, I felt not just sorrow but anger at a world that could allow such things to happen.

The annual Ed Asner Family Center's table read of "It's a Wonderful Life" is kicking ass as ever, but there's something particularly sweet about having Brendan Fraser reading George Bailey this year. A good reminder that 2022 brought us the Brennaissance and is thus Not All Bad.
Finally found time / opportunity to watch Room 237 (yeah, a little late on that) -- my god, do I love The Shining. Even more now, yes. (You don't have to take the documentary's train to the final station to love what it's trying to do; nut-punching Moon-landing deniers is still correct behavior.)
