I just called out some racist remarks in a text thread with long-time workmates. I was instantly told "it's not a racist conversation. A- was talking about her dog."
Such a MAGA thing to say. I will miss a lot of the fun & reminiscing but this has been simmering for a while and I've tried to ignore it. It was thinly veiled before but now it isn't. I won't miss that part at all. Just sad.

@wolfwoman They're cowards, every one. If I had a quarter for every MAGAt that refused to own their own words. And they wonder why we think they're not trustworthy?
@agunn I think my friends are trying to convince themselves that they aren't racist. What's sad is when it is someone you have known and gone through a lot with for many, many years. Much like a family member that I had to basically ignore for a few years. It's still painful if it's someone you love. Especially knowing they won't ever face that reality.
