@singlemaltgirl Sounds like someone needs to decide she's a tradwife now π . Here's to 18 months of peace; may she ultimately choose to excel elsewhere.
@singlemaltgirl @agunn Congratulations (and oof--kudos to you for putting up with that shit--I would have fired her)
@Notokay agreed but i had a person retiring when i started & the other staff is a dud (but has a lovely attitude). this 1 was actually doing the work even if her attitude sucked & she made it clear her contempt of me.
i worked w/ the other & she will be leaving after realizing that no matter how hard she tries, this job is not the right fit.
the retired 1 we replaced w/ a dud who had to be fired w/in 4 mos for non performance.
so i've been stuck. but my mat leave cover is promising!
@singlemaltgirl @agunn Ugh. Why hiring competent staff is so hard is a real mystery. I am hiring right now and the applicant pool is not great, NGL.
@Notokay well the 1 i had to fire was very qualified. but she lied about shit & did no work.
usually, i have better luck when hiring. i tend to hire 'odd'. have a big gap in resume but explain it well during the interview? don't have cdn exp but loads elsewhere?
i pay the best i can & usually my hunches work well. i hired someone who had been a sahd for several yrs. no 1 would give him a chance. he was eager, could think on his feet & multi task. we could train the work. he was great!
@agunn
@singlemaltgirl @agunn Oh, absolutely. I would much rather train someone hungry to learn than deal with the experienced one who's phoning it in.
@agunn she is kinda like a tradwife now. she believes many of the same things and she has interesting ideas about the charitable sector. she also hopes to lead a charity one day but she thinks fundraising is crass.
i do hope that in the 18 months she realizes she wants to continue to be a sahm or she has another baby in about a year. that would be swell. we're a small team & her arrogance & attitude can be very disruptive & toxic. ππΎ
