Itโs not too late to register to #Vote! Come on, folks! This is not the election to sit out. Itโs close. We need EVERY vote. #VoteBlue2022 #VoteBlueToSaveDemocracy
Tomorrow is most likely going to be just terrible. ๐บ๐ธ, vote and do anything else you can. Starting Wednesday, it will be important to look ahead to the next chance to fix things. ๐จ๐ฆ, we need to make sure it doesnโt spread to here. Itโs already on the rise, as we feared. #politics
@Faay watching it right now ๐
@Ryan_FromCanada Same here. Since 2010. But itโs time to move on. I hope the people who depended on Twitter find a replacement.
"So now we get breathless speculation about Trumpโs announcement date, because it stirs up the same emotions amongst most of the press that the impending arrival of Christmas Day does among children. He is a gift to them and to the laziest impulses of the press." https://oliverwillis.substack.com/p/mainstream-media-misses-trump-and
From where I sit in the UK democracy looks under severe threat in the States from the Trumpist rightโฆ for gods sake get out & #voteblue
@Chuck50 contact vote from abroad. They have expert staff who know the rules for all 50 states and the territories. States are required to accept the fwab by federal law and cannot disenfranchise you.
Please vote if you are a US citizen. Even if you are out of the country, you can vote. Itโs still not too late. Go to VoteFromAbroad.org. You can use the Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot (FWAB) which stars must accept. #politics. #VoteBlue. #DemocratsAbroad
@Chuck50 Iโve been using a workaround which is to switch between the firehose and friends steams and then, at least for me, they both update. Somethingโs takes a few tries, though.
@Anna_Csepregi Very sorry ๐
@mjcherbert Hi. No, CoSo isnโt federated. Itโs standalone.
@steelydan To follow someone, click on their name/avatar photo and a button for follow should pop up.
@MPCavalier Only about 5% of people in North America are on Twitter. Itโs integral, though, because basically every reporter and politician is on it and itโs a rare news report that doesnโt refer to it or quote tweets.
Itโs going to be interesting, in a passing-a-car-crash way, to see what happens on Twitter. My follower number there is dropping rapidly, which I assume means a bunch of people are leaving. Can something as integral to current society really be trashed that fast? Or is it just going to change into something else (and much less desirable)? I think it will probably survive in a way that I will be much less likely to use.
