So what is this about Trump recognising Jerusalem as Israel’s capital? I can’t see any sense in it - neither diplomatic nor economic? Sounds like just a needless provocation of an already tense Middle East.

@Still_tweet Its aimed in large part at his base, certainly. But I think he's also actually hoping to provoke a violent response. Nothing would help increase his support beyond his base than anti-American violence in Muslim countries or, likely his holy grail, a large terrorist attack in US.
