The first #rug I ever made 😍. In 2017 or 18...
Was woven on a rigid heddle loom which I hadn't set up properly so the warp kept detensioning which was very frustrating! But I persevered and I still love this particular piece although it mainly gets used as a throw not a rug as the later ones are much more durable and suited to being walked on :)
Handspun wool weft with a cotton warp :)
@Zailrand LOVE these! I’m a weaver too and have rugs all over the place. But currently loomless because I took up the thru hiking lifestyle for a few years. This year too, so maybe I’ll get a loom next year. How big was your rigid heddle? I have one the width of a queen size bed, which I’ve never used.
@Kit Thank you :) was a 32" Ashford RH loom, now got an Ashford 32" 8 shaft table loom too but haven't got the hang of using all the shafts to pattern things yet :)
My mum had a huge rug loom when I was a kid as she had a textile business for a while. I'd love a huge loom but it was sold years ago. Queen sized bed width loom sounds amazing 🤩 Hope you get a chance to use it at some point
@Zailrand LOVE these!!!
@Kit thankyou :)
@Zailrand
I love it! So cheerful. The notion of not setting up the warp correctly is keeping me from plunging in with weaving. One of these days!
@Zailrand Very nice!
@KiKiPosting thank you:)
Stretching this #woven rug to go on the coffee sack backing. I like using coffee sacks to back rugs but sometimes it can be tricky getting them to fit
