There are plenty of other mfg's. I've had bad lucks with WD too but then some of my most sturdy ones are WD. It's a crabshoot but way better now than before.

Republicans want to kill Social Security for no reason other than they hate it.
“That concern emerged Monday when Rep. Mike Lee (R-Utah) uncorked a tweet thread on X labeling Social Security ‘a classic bait and switch’ and ‘an outdated, mismanaged system.’”
The problem is that Republicans want to PRIVATIZE Social Security—that would be thr REAL bait and switch.
Don’t be fooled. Overhead for Social Security is about 5%. You cannot privatize it for less than 30% overhead.
