They might be a pain in the butt sometimes, but greenbottle blowflies are quite pretty when the light catches them just right.

After seeing The Fly, with Jeff Goldblum, I will never see flies as anything but gross.
Once someone 🙄 apparently left a package of frozen meat from the freezer in the laundry hamper by "accident" at my house. When we came back from a trip my house was full of maggots and flies; it took us over a week to kill them all and clean up the house. 🤮
Oh my goodness. That must've been quite the chore, and beyond gross.
How does one accidentally put meat in a clothes hamper??
Our big freezer is right next to washer/dryer. So she just parked it there while she was organizing the freezer then forgotten about it. I had to find the source of maggots and flies... 🤢 🤮
