I sometimes wish that I was not as sensitive to peoples pain and hurts. I can’t watch the news and I barely watch any tv. If an advertisement comes on showing pain, starving children, animal abuse etc. I have to turn it off immediately. It affects me for days. Anyone else feel that way, or just me?
@gregscloud1 It does affect me. It does give me great pain. But I'm one of those people who consider it a duty to the lost, the hurt, the aggrieved, the abused, to not turn away from their pain.
I'm a watcher. It is my duty and purpose to look at things that others must turn away from. So I am designed in a way that allows me to handle it. I do it because not everyone else can.
Just like there are people who can do what I cannot, and I must trust them to be there where I can't.
It hurts, but I cannot - not look. I think that is what made me a good anti social worker. 🙃 Not really antisocial, but kind of am these days.
