To all my new friends who have connected to me here on CoSo.

Let me take a moment to say that most CoSoNauts have a caring and vulnerable side and we share with each other.

Let me start to show you how this works.

My Name is Matthew and I'm a Recovering Alcoholic, today I'm 35 years clean and sober

I also have suffered from black dark depression, and take my Prozac every day, just as a diabetic may take medication to keep the body running correctly

Better Living Thru Chemistry.

@XSGeek
Congrats on your recovery. Every day is a new day! I don't know you but I'm proud of the work you've put in!

@XSGeek Congratulations, Matthew! You are an inspiration to everyone struggling with addiction.

@XSGeek glad you found the chiemistry that works for you ... i found the chemistry that works for me a little over 4 years ago ( my profile might give a clue as to what that is )

@XSGeek Hello Matthew 🌞 You seem like a nice CoSoNaut πŸ’

@XSGeek 35 years clean is an amazing accomplishment and to do that whole also taking care of your mental health is Herculean. Congrats to you my friend! I am so glad you are here with us ❀️

@XSGeek 35 years and counting! You’re amazing. ❀️

I, too, suffer from major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety, BFRB and mild OCD. I take two different antidepressants daily that help ensure I can get out of bed everyday. I have medication as well to help when my anxiety is too much which has been a lot more than normal over the last two years.

There is situational depression and then there is chemical. And sometimes there is both. I’ve got both but I can’t talk my way out of chemicals.

@XSGeek congratulations on your sobriety! That's a long time and definitely something to be proud of. I too struggle with depression and take meds for it. Been on meds for years and it definitely makes it easier to live.

@XSGeek I’m just now seeing this. Honored to know you.

@XSGeek 35 years sober is an amazing achievement and will, I'm sure, give courage to many who are struggling.
Kudos to you for doing what works for you. Mental illness can require accommodation just like a physical one, and there is no shame in using it and talking about it.
Wishing you a perfect day - you have every reason to celebrate! ❀️ πŸŽ‰ πŸŽ‚

@XSGeek Congrats on 35 years and keeping the other two diseases at bay. Got sober in 1965, One of the best decision I ever made. It works and keeps working if we work it.
