Observation:
My Husband and I are watching the Old Carol Burnett shows on Prime when we go to bed at night. We both grew up with them when they were first run (I told you I'm old).
So as I watch episodes from the late 60s... I gotta say, I had really forgotten the prevalence of encoded homophobic material in Comedy. And they aren't trying to be mean, it just never occurs to them that it's truly toxic. Lord knows I'm sure surprised I didn't remember it at all
