#Politics A friend posted a short essay on Facebook that made a very good point about the presidential election.
In US history, it's pretty rare for a sitting Vice President to be elected President. The last time it happened was George H.W. Bush in 1988. Humphrey lost in 1968. Gore failed in 2000. Biden flamed out in the 2016 primaries.
Some former VPs have come back to win president in a later election, e.g. Nixon in 1968 and Biden in 2020.

Interesting point. Hadn't thought about that. Trump did make a lot of noise about "her" administration. Maybe a newer face would have helped, I don't know who tho. I was pissed when then forced Biden out, but happily accepted Harris. And Walz was perfect. Not my first choice, but was great.
@LindaWisner Kamala ran a great campaign. History was against her, for many reasons, not the least of which was a civilly ignorant electorate.
They're about to get an education.
@WordsmithFL She wasn’t a perfect candidate and she made some odd decisions (campaigning with Liz Cheney??), but being a sitting VP wasn’t the main reason she lost.
@WordsmithFL Again, this assumes we’ll be allowed to vote in a legitimate election in the near future.
