@WordsmithFL There is a disturbing number of people ok with hentai depicting children with the anime and comic events. It's colored my view of anime and comics.

@AnnetteTRemain I've been around the con scene since the 1980s. It's always been there. Certain authors were rumored to be stalking underaged girls.

@WordsmithFL I loved comics as a kid. I don't want to be anywhere near it now and don't want to see anime. I admit I judge. Fans should have killed all that if they didn't want the art questioned. And it was really bad on X. I don't like the sexing on kids. It lowers peoples inhibitions, normalizes behavior, and conditions and encourages people to act.

@AnnetteTRemain I just remembered that Cas Anvar got fired from "The Expanse" because he was hitting on underaged girls at cons.

I remember older male authors hitting on young women.

And, to be honest, some young women flirting with personalities hoping to get picked up.

I had a stalker follow me at a couple cons. She was a married woman who wanted me to have an affair with her. I said no. I stopped going to cons because of her.

@WordsmithFL I condemn it just like I condemn Michael Jackson, Gérard Depardieu, Woody Allen. If I found some old comic of spiderman in a antique shop I might look at it but I won't have anything to do with the comic world or japanese anime. They make it acceptable and push the lie that beating off to a comic depicting rape or underage makes one safer than people who don't.

@WordsmithFL @AnnetteTRemain same here. Been around the con world for ages, and wow are some folx ever creepy.

And now I'm starting to remember old rumors of certain male actors taking advantage of young girls. Nothing proven, until Cas Anvar, but I sure saw my share.

I had a friend who wrote for a certain SF TV series. A woman was going around on social media claiming he recruited her into bizarre sexual acts. I seriously doubt it was true, but boy howdy she came after anyone who asked her for proof.

@AnnetteTRemain

@WordsmithFL It is very very very very very very very very very easy to find anime on X and other places where it's clear some are pushing it as socially acceptable to get off on kids. I'm not even talking about adults acting like kids I think we all know what they show. @joycereynoldsward

@WordsmithFL Can false accusations happen? Absolutely. It also happens too often where people abuse and get away with it for years because victims won't come forward. If someone is creating or getting off on certain "art" then I think it clearly shows where their interests are. @joycereynoldsward
