Fourteen years ago today, on April 15, 2010, President spoke at the Operations and Checkout Building to detail his plans to reform NASA.

(His proposals were largely rejected by Congress, whose members wanted pork, not reform.)

In retrospect, perhaps the most significant event that day was the visit to at Launch Complex 40. Obama was given a tour by a clearly nervous Elon Musk. Obama committed to reform that would end the government monopoly and open space to competition.
