56 years ago today, the first Saturn V rocket launched on an uncrewed test flight.

The launch is perhaps best remembered for anchor Walter Cronkite's description of his press building shaking, holding the window in, the ceiling about to collapse, etc.

Saturn V was the most powerful U.S. rocket ever built until the launched earlier this year.

@thedisasterautist I think the only launch since then that matched the motions was the first Falcon Heavy launch.
