@MLClark I've been archiving my Space SPAN YouTube channel (because I accidentallly deleted the entire backup) and came across the moment of serenity to share with you.
October 4, 2012, 8:10 AM EDT. This was a Delta IV launch of a global positioning satellite.
I was still using my prosumer camcorder back then, and still had my KSC badge with access to secure areas.
So enjoy the sunrise, enjoy the Banana River, enjoy the launch, enjoy the serenity.
@MLClark Thank you for watching ... Not many people realize that Kennedy Space Center and Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge have the same borders. NASA uses about 10%; the rest is wildlife.
We have such a fantastic balance between high tech and nature. I'm about 11 km south of KSC; we have an artificial lake in the back yard that attracts migrating flocks.
That video is an example of the symbiosis here between humanity and nature. It's a reminder that humanity doesn't have to suck. 😉
@WordsmithFL
I had to get home to watch this (no wasting data on video while I'm out and about), but what a lovely meditative pause, and right on the nose with respect to that gratitude exercise.
"We" (our species) has and can achieve so much. Every time we use these hardwon talents to diminish and destroy instead, we're only ever stealing from ourselves.
...
I still need to watch Tomorrowland, but after watching this... tonight seems just about right for it. Thank you, my friend. 🙂
