#Politics One potential #Trump defense is that he blames his "attorney" John Eastman for giving him bad advice.
That doesn't work for several reasons, one being that lots more attorneys -- including his AG -- told him it was bollocks.
Beyond that, it encourages Eastman to flip to save his own hide. Eastman has as much dirt on Trump as anyone, maybe even more than Meadows or Giuliani.
@SECRET_ASIAN_MAN If these charges don't flip Eastman and Giuliani, nothing will.
Especially if Meadows is already cooperating.
Not to mention Pence on the witness stand ... although I suspect the defense will question his motive based on his being a rival candidate for the Republican nomination.
@WordsmithFL I think he wants to run out the clock until he can get re-elected and throw out the whole lawsuit. He comes from the Roy Cohn school of skirting the law.
@carmen That doesn't really work either. He can't flip state charges in Georgia and New York. More might be coming in Michigan and elsewhere.
Whomever he nominates for AG has to be approved by the Senate. Unless the Senate goes Republican, a stooge won't get approved.
I suppose an interim AG could do the damage, though.
Help me not perish from exhaustion.
Unimaginable that republicans have increased their support of trump to 79% post indictments.
How on earth did we get here?
@LnzyHou It's okay to check out for a while ... The reason more Republicans believe Trump is that most of the sane people have left the party. Those left are the rubes. So the number is misleading.
If we saw zillions of people re-registering as Republican, we'd have something to worry about, but it's not happening.
Plus, the state Republican parties are running out of money because the rubes are sending their money to Trump. So they can't afford registration drives.
Whew…
@LnzyHou Take a look at this data ... As of October 2022:
Democrats 38.78%
Republicans 29.42%
Independents 28.55%
Other 3.25%
And all this is before 2023's shenanigans.

@WordsmithFL I concur.
