#adhd folk - what do you do when you need to focus on a project? Do you have some kind of ritual that can quiet down everything unnecessary in your head?
@Wifwoof I’ve also found utilizing my #hyperfocus in kinda a modified pomodoro timer can help. I let myself do it to a certain point (play a video game till I die, finish one embroidery thread) then I have to work on my project until I hit a certain mark then I can go back to my hyper focus until I hit that benchmark again. Rinse and repeat.
It helps give dopamine motivation since you know your reward is your hyper fixation. I wouldn’t be able to do chores without it 😅 #adhdhack
@Wifwoof here’s a pic of it from the App Store! It’s got a bunch of different sounds you can swipe through (including the ability to make your own). The only one I use is the brown noise (and I recorded my cat purring 🥰)
I definitely hear ya with the coffee shop. It depends on how busy it is and how it’s set up. Sometimes it just means I’m moving from the office to the bedroom for a change of scenery. It’s the change that seems to help more than where I am.
