#Astrology Astro Photo of the Day
Comet McNaught, the Great Comet of 2007, grew a spectacularly long and filamentary tail. The magnificent tail spread across the sky and was visible for several days to Southern Hemisphere observers just after sunset. The amazing ion tail showed its greatest extent on long-duration, wide-angle camera exposures.

THOUGHT OF THE DAY:
"A person's success in life can usually be measured by the number of uncomfortable conversations he or she is willing to have." - Timothy Ferriss
FACT OF THE DAY:
In one of the worst prison disasters in US history, 322 inmates were killed and 150 injured when a fire broke out in the Ohio State Penn on April 21, 1930. When some guards refused to let inmates out of their cells, other inmates overpowered the guards to rescue fellow prisoners.
At around 1 am on October 5, a mob of about 50 white men overtook the jail, seized the three men from their cells, and took them to the outskirts of town, where they tied them to trees and shot them to death. A fourth Black man, Sam Duncan, was found shot to death nearby later in the day. He also had no ties to the killing of John Harvey and was thought to have been killed by the mob simply for being a Black man who they encountered.
The suspected shooter, a young Black man named Jim Givens, fled immediately afterward, and mobs of armed white men formed to pursue him. Mr. Givens’s brother, Ben Givens, and two other Black men connected to him—Mr. Smith and Mr. Field—were questioned and jailed during the search. Though there was no evidence or accusation that they had been involved in Mr. Harvey's killing, they were held simply for having a connection to the man the mob wanted.

Lotus 1-2-3 bypassed the operating system of the IBM PC, making it much faster than its competitors.
Gerry Adams (born October 6, 1948, Belfast, Northern Ireland) is the former president of Sinn Féin, long regarded as the political wing of the Irish Republican Army (IRA), and one of the chief architects of Sinn Féin’s shift to a policy of seeking a peaceful settlement to sectarian violence in Northern Ireland. He was elected several times to the British House of Commons for Belfast West but, following party policy, did not take his seat.
Near Sakaiminato, Japan, an earthquake of magnitude 7.3 struck, the most powerful earthquake since the devastating Kōbe earthquake of 1995, but damage and casualties were relatively low because the epicentre was in a sparsely inhabited area.
