@SalK Sometimes males use “gals” but it’s usually ironic, e.g. implying straying from the group’s focus. Historically gender neutral has always been male terms; I read about some fuss over recent use of “Latinx” being awkward, “Latino” has always been the gender neutral, so it’s not just US.
