Tropical Storm in open waters of the far Eastern Atlantic is just a harmless swirl of clouds Monday morning. Unless develops storms soon NHC will call it. 21Aug2023

Tropical Storm designated overnight (Formerly ). Was upgraded after satellite data supported 40mph(65km/h) winds which is just enough to be classified as Tropical Storm. Still disorganized, exposed center and expected to fall apart further soon. 21Aug2023

is now post-tropical (lost it's tropical characteristics). Dangerous conditions and some rains will still persist. For storm updates, please see local NWS offices as NHC no longer provides regular updates at this point.

Invest 90L in Caribbean becomes Tropical Storm Franklin. System may bring heavy rains to portions of Hispaniola (Haiti / Dominican Republic) and Puerto Rico region as well as near Hurricane conditions to Hispaniola.
Future path may zigzag and bares watching still.

Invest in Caribbean being monitored by NOAA plane to see what's under the clouds in person Sunday afternoon. This area of scattered showers and breezy conditions may try to develop into our next tropical system as meanders around. 20Aug2023

Tornadoes can commonly be found in tropical systems, mainly(but not limited to) Northeast of storm center. These tend to be(but not limited to) short lived weaker variety that may pop up & disappear just as fast, usually traveling in direction of the rain/storm that spawned it. 20Aug2023

Invest far out in the Eastern Atlantic may be a short lived low end system similar to TD6 as well. But it's also about to run into wind shear and plowing into very dry dusty air.

Invest has become Tropical Depression Six . But it's facing wind shear and running into a plume of dry dusty air (SAL). Not expected to last long.

Invest moving through the Eastern Caribbean bringing breezy conditions and plenty of scattered showers. Radar shows a general low level spin with it. May turn North / meander around soon though. May be watching a few days but nothing definitive in models yet.

The area around South Florida expected to continue Westward quickly across the Gulf of Mexico. It may try and develop just as approaches the Texas / North Mexico coast early this week.

The remnants of will be passing near Hawaii Sunday - Tuesday. Likely to bring slight increase of trade winds, seas 6-7ft, and scattered showers (mainly Monday, better chances further South). 19Aug2023

Dry air(yellow/orange on left) appears to have reached core of Hurricane . Clearly hurting structure. This, cool water, wind shear & land will continue to weaken(as NHC expected)
Note: This does NOT change rain impact. Hurricane is caught in funnel of moisture moving North

Hurricane now 115mph(185km/h) Cat3. Continues to weaken as approaches Baja peninsula. Southern tip of Baja experiencing sustained winds along coast up to 40mph(64km/h), gust near 60mph(96km/h).
