Take Hurricane Milton storm surge notifications & evacuations seriously - this is a rare event for a very susceptible region to surge. It will travel up waterways, rivers, bays, canals and over land. It's all about elevation, not distance from the beach. Latest see: https://www.hurricanes.gov/
5aEDT Monday data 7-Oct2024
Storm Surge is often greatest to the right of forward motion. In the case of an East to Northeast moving system like Hurricane #Milton that would likely be near and to the South of where the center approaches land. Should see this reflected when NHC releases maps, likely Sunday evening. 6-Oct24
