Here's a scary scenario:
Trump wins (scary enough, I know).
Vance begins carefully courting the rest of the cabinet.
Trump does something crazy.
Vance convenes a 25th Amendment hearing, steps in as acting President, and Trump is sidelined.
And Project 2025 goes into high gear.
