@InUnfunky Not surprising. I knew immediately this place had a strong GenX vibe. A spirit of independence peppered with a touch of sarcasm.
She was born in 64, but her demeanor is classic GenX.
@WaevetSmaevets @InUnfunky @CLManussier
same !
The 1964 cut-off is mean and random.
By 1964 we weren’t “boomers” because the “boom” was over in the early 60s … we were termed generation x because we had no cool nick-name. But by the time hollywood got ahold of the term genx we were a shade older than Hollywood’s “best-before” date so for sex appeal they bumped the category forward a few years… thereby even taking the x away from us! Baby-busters-not-baby-boomers ✊ it’s a lonely cause tho 😂
@heatherdale @WaevetSmaevets @InUnfunky @CLManussier Mystery Men! I love Janine! Love that movie!
@dauphin87 @heatherdale @WaevetSmaevets @CLManussier
Would you believe I never saw it.
In fact…I REFUSED to see it
Which I think is very Gen X.
🙄😅
@InUnfunky @heatherdale @WaevetSmaevets @CLManussier Well, I've never seen the X-Files. I still refuse.
@dauphin87 @heatherdale @WaevetSmaevets @CLManussier
I saw an episode or two.
Not my thing.
(I thought it was fostering credulity amongst the masses. And yes, I AM fun at parties! 😆)
Gillian is X, is whatsisname? 😏
@dauphin87 @heatherdale @WaevetSmaevets @CLManussier
Hold up, my mistake.
Yes, I saw “Mystery Men (and Women).”
I DID NOT SEE “Reality Bites” for much the same reason I didn’t watch MTV “Real World” shit.
No offense to people who take offense to that cultural comparison.
🙄😱🙄🤓🤓
@WaevetSmaevets
I have 2 brothers - one born in 1964 and one in 1965. Same parents. Raised in the same home. Etc etc.
1964 brother is a full-on stereotypical angry racist misogynistic Boomer - MAGA "get-off-my-lawn or I'll shoot you with one of my 200 guns" type.
1965 bro is chill af and happily vibing through life.
*Obviously not all Boomers are like him. Pointing to the stereotype.
