Lukashenko imprisoned the Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Ales Belyatski for 10 years

😁
“Uh deed naht no dat about muhself!”
People I know freaking out about a “gay parade” happening anywhere in the world: “OH NO THIS MUST BE STOPPED!”
Me, a straight white guy: “What’s the problem, my dude? Did you see a male nipple? Are you traumatized? Are you feeling CHANGES in your body? Should i call you a doctor? Should i get you a proctologist to check if something funny is happening in your ass?”
Letting the van come in, let the van inside the house, letting the van come in, there's a van inside the house

No wonder I’d failed my Star Fleet exam 😭

Yes.
I feel her pain and anger.
I had to fight through that bullshit too.

Freedom disappoints them because with it come risks. Life is so much easier for farm animals— they know exactly what tomorrow will bring, a new heap of hay, a new bowl of corn.

Yes.Russian culture is “never question those in charge, they always know better”.
Russian culture is also “we are nobodies, little people, we don’t decide anything, our is duty is to follow decisions made for us”.
Little kids are literally raised under the principle of Not Standing Out. “Blend in with the crowd, don’t stick out, don’t act like you need more than others”. Individuality is shamed since kindergarten, it is dishonourable and insulting to The People to stand out
@ayankdownunder
You mean the “old ex constable” achievement

I should have added they’ll praise Putin in their graves. The Ruskies are still boot lickers to every Czar that’s put above them.
Howl’s Moving Castle the book by Diana Wynne Jones is quite an astonishing discovery for me.
I’d only seen Miyazaki’s anime based on it. He is of course a genius in his own right but that movies pales in comparison. The actions, motivations and the origin of the character’s problems just make so much more sense in the book and are so much more relatable.
I picked it up out of boredom and haven’t regretted it. What a pleasant surprise.
@Lingitta
I completely agree. It shouldn’t matter at all what our children grow up to be, our love towards them is unconditional
@Shilohx @CaliZaybak
They’ll come back home and drink themselves blind, kill some body in a drunken fight and go back to prison.
Counting on these human plankton to come back home and somehow change the political landscape in #Russia is extremely naive.
I was born in the USSR and grew up in an ex-soviet "republic". Want an honest opinion on communism from someone who's experienced it firsthand? Ask me.
