To the background of news of my Dad's discovered cancer I decided to go through a series of (VERY) unpleasant medicals and have been cleared of all suspicions, which makes me very happy.
What makes me sad though is that my Dad will need 2-4 surgeries with intermittent treatments in between. The first surgery is planned for Wednesday.

Thankfully he's got two sons and where I can provide personal assistance, my "way better off" brother has already begun taking care of the financial burden a little.
